FOIA Request to Ogemaw County Election Division Regarding Information about Candidates for the Upcoming Spring Election on February 5, 2025.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at North Michigan News have submitted a request under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act § 15.231 et seq. This request was made to the Ogemaw County Election Division and pertains specifically to the candidates running in the upcoming spring election.

The information we have requested includes complete details about each candidate. We are seeking their first, middle, and last names, as well as the office they are running for and its jurisdiction. Additionally, we have asked for each candidate's party affiliation.

In order to provide a thorough report to our readers, we've also requested all available contact information for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.

As a media organization, our role is not only to gather and report news but also to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public.
