State Representative Cam Cavitt, a Republican from Cheboygan, is organizing an art contest for high school students in Northeast Michigan. The competition invites students to create artwork that represents the essence of the region. The winner will have the chance to visit Lansing and experience being a legislator for a day.

The contest is open to students in grades 9 through 12 from Cheboygan, Montmorency, Presque Isle, Alpena, Oscoda, and Alcona counties. Entries must be submitted by March 31 and can include any art form except photography.

The winning student will spend a day with Rep. Cavitt in Lansing, receive a tribute from the governor, have their photo taken on the House floor, and participate in various activities throughout the day.

Submissions can be sent as photos via email to [email protected] or mailed to Cavitt’s office at P.O. Box 30014 in Lansing, MI 48909-7514.
