Expenditures: How much did Wexford County-based Committee to Elect Michael K. Hayes spend in Q3 2021?

Committee to Elect Michael K. Hayes spent the most out of all the political committees based in a city associated with Wexford County during the third quarter of 2021, according to the Michigan Department of State.

The committee paid $7,893 to two vendors.

The largest expense was $5,000 paid to Cadillac-based Michael Hayes for ..

The second largest political spend from a committee operating in a city within Wexford County during the quarter came from Wexford County Progressives. It spent $408 during the time period on two different vendors.

What’s known as “dark money,” which comes from political non-profits and shell corporations, has greatly increased expenditures and donations in recent elections to record-breaking highs.

Total political expenditures in the 2022 elections amounted to more than $444 million.
