Junior diver Kalina Ceglinski of the Northern Michigan University (NMU) women's swim and dive team has been named the GLIAC Female Diver of the Week following her recent performances.

Ceglinski, who is from Elmhurst, Illinois, competed against nationally ranked teams over the weekend. On Friday, she secured first place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events against #14 Findlay and #17 Saginaw Valley, with scores of 264.85 and 253.95 respectively. Less than a day later, she repeated her success against #4 Grand Valley State, winning both the 1-meter (264.30) and 3-meter (250.73) events.

Diving coach Christopher Kelly commented on her performance: "Kalina has had a strong start to the season, and has been a great team leader for our younger women's team. We are excited to get back to practice and keep our momentum going into the mid season meet!"

Ceglinski was recognized as a First-Team All-American in the 3-meter event and Second-Team All-American in the 1-meter event for 2024. She has won all eight events she has entered this season since competition began at the UP showdown in early October.

The NMU Wildcats will host #13 Wayne State at home on November 7 and November 8 at PEIF Pool in Marquette.

Recent weekly honors for NMU swim and dive athletes include Jef Leroux as Men's Swimmer of the Week and Anika Wright as Women's Swimmer of the Week for week one, while Ceglinski earned Women's Diver of the Week recognition for week four.
