CITY OF ALPENA: Smoking Signage Installed

Stop smoking

City of Alpena issued the following announcement on Aug. 23

On June 3, 2019, City Council adopted ordinance 19-444, an ordinance which bans smoking and vaping in City parks, beaches, and recreation areas. The universal no smoking signage is meant to address ordinance 19-444, which includes no vaping in parks, beaches, and recreation areas, has now been installed. With the signs now installed, compliance is required and violations will be enforced. With this new ordinance in place, please be aware of no smoking or vaping postings while visiting these areas.
