The Northern Michigan University women's swim and dive team will open its 2025-26 season at home in Marquette, Michigan. The Wildcats are set to host St. Cloud State, Davenport University, and Lake Superior State University at the PEIF Pool. The event includes two sessions on Friday, October 3—at 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.—and one session on Saturday, October 4 at 10 a.m. Admission is free for all attendees.

Last season, the Wildcats finished second at the GLIAC Championships and competed in the NCAA Championships. Returning athletes include All-American diver Kalina Ceglinski, All-American distance swimmer Anika Wright, as well as GLIAC medalists Annika Geyer, Abigail Keen, and Carlotta Santi. Head coach Heidi Voigt has added ten freshmen to the roster this year. Some newcomers have already made an impression; Ludovica Bonini placed first and third in the 50- and 100-yard breaststroke events respectively during NMU’s intra squad meet, while Laura Stockinger won the 100-yard backstroke.

St. Cloud State enters the meet after being selected to finish third in this season’s Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference preseason poll following a third-place result last year. Sophomore Hallie Drossel returns after earning recognition as the conference's preseason Swimmer of the Year.

Davenport University recently finished fourth at last year's GLIAC Championships and brings back sophomore Nadia Jastrzabek, who was named GLIAC Freshman of the Year after setting school records in three events and breaking a conference record in the 100 freestyle.

Lake Superior State is beginning its second year as a program under new Director of Intercollegiate Swimming and Aquatics Tim O’Neil. O’Neil previously coached Lewis University to several program milestones including numerous NCAA qualifying times and school records.

Head coach Heidi Voigt commented on hosting multiple teams: "We have three teams at home this weekend, the most teams we've had at a home event since I've been here... it's always fun for us to race at home, [The student-athletes] have pride in being at our pool."
