Rep. Jack Bergman has announced that the Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Loan Outreach Centers in Emmet and Cheboygan Counties remain operational. These centers are open to assist homeowners, renters, businesses, and non-profit organizations affected by the recent ice storm in several counties including Cheboygan, Charlevoix, Emmet, Mackinac, Montmorency, Otsego, and Presque Isle.
Eligible individuals and entities can apply for low-interest disaster loans to cover uncompensated physical damages. Additionally, small businesses and non-profits experiencing economic losses due to the disaster may seek Economic Injury Disaster Loans for working capital.
Information about the application process is available online at www.sba.gov/disaster or by calling 800-659-2955. The SBA has established temporary Disaster Loan Outreach Centers staffed with customer service representatives who can provide assistance with loan applications.
Individuals are encouraged to take advantage of personalized help at any center regardless of their county of residence.
The Cheboygan County DLOC is located at the Indian River Chamber of Commerce on 3435 S. Straits Highway in Indian River, MI 49749. It operates weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and is closed on Sundays and Friday, July 4th. This center will permanently close on Thursday, July 10th at 4 p.m.
The Emmet County DLOC is situated in Little Traverse Township at 8288 S. Pleasantview Rd., Harbor Springs, MI 49740. Its hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and it is also closed on Sunday and Friday, July 4th. This location will close permanently on Saturday, July 12th at 2 p.m.
