The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has recognized 128 student-athletes in Division II with selections to the All-Region teams for 2025. Among them, sophomore attacker Josie Lakosky from Northern Michigan University has been named to the Midwest Region Second Team.
Lakosky, who was also honored as the 2025 GLIAC Attacker of the Year and received a First Team All-Conference selection, achieved her first all-region accolade following an impressive sophomore season. During this period, she set career highs in several statistical categories. She led the conference and ranked among regional leaders in shots on goal per game (6.89), shots per game (9.00), goals (69), free-position goals per game (1.05), points (91), goals per game (3.63), and points per game (4.79).
Out of the Midwest region's 32 selections across both first and second teams, Lakosky is one of eight sophomores or freshmen and stands out as the only representative from a school other than Grand Valley within the GLIAC conference.
With this recognition, Lakosky is now eligible for consideration for a national IWLCA All-American team. The announcement for the Division II 2025 All-American teams by IWLCA is scheduled for May 21.
