Northern Michigan University (NMU) has honored 114 student-athletes for their academic achievements by inducting them into the Chi Alpha Sigma (ΧΑΣ) 2025 National College Athlete Honor Society. Chi Alpha Sigma, established in 1996 by former DePauw University head football coach Nick Mourouzis, is the only nonprofit organization that recognizes four-year college student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically.

To be eligible for induction, students must be juniors or seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. The honor society provides an opportunity for these student-athletes to connect within a fraternal association that supports their educational and athletic accomplishments throughout their lives.

The list of inductees spans various sports, including men's and women's alpine skiing, basketball, cross country and track & field, football, golf, hockey, lacrosse, Greco-Roman wrestling, Nordic skiing, soccer, swim & dive, volleyball, and women's wrestling.

Additionally, NMU Athletics has recognized its Scholar-Athletes of the Month for the 2024-25 athletic season. The honorees include Grayden Daul and Ella Westerman in September; Patrick Andrews and Maria Storm in October; Sam Privet and Pearl Harvey in November; Tommaso Lami and Ainsley Kirk in December; Dylan Kuehl and Henriette Nilssen in January; Leo Nolles and Camilla Carbone in February; Hunter Belanger and Ellyse Wolfrath in March; Daniel Lopez Aponte and Norah Bates in April.
