The NMU lacrosse team emerged victorious against the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears, securing a 9-7 win that propelled them to the GLIAC Championship. The match took place at the GVSU Lacrosse Stadium on the Grand Valley State campus, marking the third consecutive season NMU has prevailed over the Golden Bears in the postseason.

The Wildcats, ranked No. 3, faced off against the No. 2 Golden Bears in a challenging match. The No. 1 Lakers defeated the No. 4 Davenport Panthers in another semifinal, setting the stage for a championship encounter between NMU and GVSU. This match, scheduled for Sunday, May 4, at noon ET, will be the third consecutive championship meeting between NMU and GVSU.

Josie Lakosky, awarded the 2025 GLIAC Attacker of the Year, was instrumental for NMU, leading with assists and points while achieving season-highs in caused turnovers and ground balls. Goals from Taylor Priestley, Hannah Jabas, Emily Radke, Katelyn Wozney, Maddi Bast, and Abby Sissonto completed NMU's scoring roster.

Goalkeeper Lauren Esposito made a significant impact, achieving a career-high with 13 saves from 29 shots faced, registering a .650 save percentage. Despite winning only seven draw controls, NMU maintained possession effectively, recording a season-high 23 clears and their fourth double-digit caused turnovers game in recent matches.

The Wildcats began their scoring early, advancing their lead quickly within the first five minutes. The Golden Bears responded in the second quarter, narrowing the gap before Lakosky helped NMU regain a three-goal lead just before halftime. The third quarter saw NMU extend their advantage, while CSP attempted a comeback that NMU successfully held off in the final quarter.
