The Northern Michigan University (NMU) lacrosse team has distinguished itself by sweeping the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Weekly Honors. This achievement was marked by two players earning recognition for their outstanding performances in the offensive and defensive categories.

Sophomore forward Josie Lakosky, from Victoria, Minnesota, has received her fourth GLIAC Player of the Week honor for this season. Acknowledged as the reigning GLIAC Freshman of the Year, Lakosky showcased a solid performance that included a hat trick, along with two ground balls and caused turnovers. She achieved this feat for the second time this season and the fourth time in her career. Lakosky's consistent performance saw her starting her 35th consecutive game, during which she scored two pivotal goals within 16 seconds in the fourth quarter, securing a two-goal lead for NMU. This season, Lakosky has set career highs across all offensive statistical categories.

In the defensive arena, sophomore defender Sophie Langsdale from Rochester, Minnesota, claimed her first GLIAC weekly honor, recognizing her contribution to the 9-8 victory over CSP, a match marking the team's senior day and the conclusion of the regular season. Langsdale delivered an impressive performance, achieving a career-high with four caused turnovers, the highest recorded by any Wildcat in a single game this year, and also contributed two ground balls. Having participated in six contests last season, Langsdale has now played in all seventeen games this season and secured a starting position in eight of the last nine matches. Her sophomore year marks significant progress, being one of only three Wildcats with 17 or more ground balls and 10 or more caused turnovers.

The GLIAC Weekly Honors for this season include:

- On 04/28, Josie Lakosky was recognized for offense and Sophie Langsdale for defense.

- On 03/17, Lakosky was noted again for offense, also earning the IWLCA Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

- On 03/10, she was recognized for offense.

- On 02/17, Lakosky was acknowledged for offense alongside Bates for defense.

Lakosky and Langsdale's accomplishments stand as a testament to their development and contribution to the NMU lacrosse team throughout the season.
