Northern Michigan University's women's lacrosse team achieved a notable victory against SVSU Cardinals with a 20-0 shutout in Marquette. This marks the program's second-ever shutout, with their previous coming in 2023 against Concordia-Ann Arbor.

Key players Maddi Bast, Josie Lakosky, and Taylor Priestley each secured hat-tricks during the game. Priestley notably set a personal record with eight points through three goals and five assists. Her assist total ties the team's single-game access record. Notably, senior Norah Bates also scored her first collegiate goal in the fourth quarter. Overall, 10 players from the team scored during the match.

Northern Michigan claimed dominance across several key stats, boasting 12 assists and firing 46 shots, 35 of which were on target. They controlled the ground balls 32-15 and completed all their clears. They achieved 15 caused turnovers compared to only 16 turnovers themselves versus 32 for SVSU. This helped them set new season highs in multiple categories, including points, goals, and assists.

Looking ahead, NMU will compete against Concordia-St. Paul in their concluding regular-season game on April 26 at the Superior Dome.

Regarding the game's events, Lakosky opened with a draw control, and Carlson scored the first goal. Lakosky and Priestley expanded the lead before Bast made it 6-0. Lakosky achieved a hat-trick following assists from Priestley. The second quarter ended with Thomas scoring her third goal of the season.

In the third quarter, Jabas scored, Bast completed her hat-trick, and Priestley also achieved hers. Mayer scored two minutes before Bates marked her first career goal, followed by additional goals from Thomas and Bast to finish the game 20-0.
