The NMU women's swim and dive team has received significant recognition, with four of its athletes being named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District. The announcement was made today in Marquette, Michigan.

The athletes honored include Becca Burrows, Zoe DeKievit, Camilla Carbone, and Mia Strazny. These four will advance to the national ballot for potential Academic All-America honors.

To qualify, student-athletes must be sophomores or higher both academically and athletically, have competed in at least five competitions or placed in the top eight at a conference meet. They must also maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, on a 4.0 scale. Graduate students must meet these criteria for both undergraduate and graduate studies unless they are newcomers to graduate school.

Among the honorees, Burrows is a senior majoring in Psychology and Sociology, with a 3.95 GPA. She has earned All-American status in the 200 and 400 medley relay and achieved multiple medals at this year's conference championships.

DeKievit, a senior in Health and Fitness Education, maintains a perfect 4.00 GPA and has secured her second consecutive CSC Academic All-District honor. This season, she claimed silver in the 400 medley relay.

Carbone, a graduate student pursuing an MBA, also holds a 4.00 GPA. She is a first-team All-American in the 100 backstroke and took gold in the 100 back at the conference championship. She, too, receives her second CSC Academic All-District honor.

Strazny, a senior planning to attend medical school, majors in Biology and Physiology and maintains a 4.00 GPA. Her accomplishments this season include earning individual second-team All-American status and multiple medals in the backstroke events.

The recognition highlights the dedication and dual commitments of these athletes to both their sports and academics.
