NMU nordic ski teams secure top-15 finishes at SuperTour Finals

The NMU nordic ski team participated in the 4 x 5k mixed relay event at the SuperTour finals in Lake Placid, New York. The competition was the second-to-last event in the finals. Two NMU relay teams raced in the event, both securing top-15 finishes.

The 'NMU 1' team, consisting of Kristoffer Karsrud, Henriette Nilssen, Luke Fricker, and Victoria Dybwad, secured 10th place overall and second among NCAA schools with a combined time of 52:09.5. Meanwhile, the 'NMU 2' team, made up of Jonathan Clarke, Jordan Parent, Adrik Kraftson, and Merle Richter, finished 15th overall and seventh among NCAA programs, timing in at 53:10.2.

Karsrud started for NMU 1 and completed his segment with a time of 12:20.3. Nilssen followed, bringing the team to 26:54.1. Fricker took over, and the team sat at 38:50.4 when Dybwad took the final leg, finishing the relay with 52:09.5.

The NMU 2 team began with Clarke, finishing his part at 12:19.7. Parent followed, reaching a total of 27:52.6, and Kraftson brought the team to 39:17.4. Richter anchored the team, crossing the line at 53:10.2.

The competition continues with the final event of the finals, the 40k distance mass start, starting at Mt. Van Hoevenberg. The women's race is scheduled for 8 a.m., followed by the men's race at 10:30 a.m.
