Northern Michigan University's senior guard, Mackenzie Holzwart, has been recognized for her performance in the Midwest Region tournament by being named to the All-Tournament Team. This accolade follows her contribution to the Wildcats' 61-56 victory over Hillsdale in the opening round, where she led her team with 13 points on 4-6 shooting and 4-5 from the free throw line. Holzwart also contributed eight rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block during that game.
In a subsequent match against Ashland, despite Northern Michigan's loss, Holzwart added nine points and was effective at the free throw line with a 5-7 record. Over the season, she averaged 6.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and combined for 1.3 steals and blocks per game.
Holzwart hails from Howards Grove, Wisconsin and has played in 112 games throughout her career at Northern Michigan University. Her career averages include 6.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, along with combined steals and blocks averaging at 1.3 per game.
Joining Holzwart on the Midwest Region All-Tournament Team are Shea Tripp from Wayne State, Zoe Miller from Ashland, Rylie Bisballe from GVSU, and Paige VanStee of GVSU who was named Most Outstanding Player (MOP).
