NMU men's swim team wins silver at NCAA Championship

The Northern Michigan University (NMU) men's swim and dive team concluded the fourth day of the NCAA Championships with a silver medal and several All-America honors. Wyatt Dickman was the sole individual competitor for NMU, qualifying for the consolation finals in the 100 breaststroke and earning a second team All-America honor. Dickman recorded a time of 53.37 in his preliminary round before posting 53.96 in the finals, finishing 12th overall.

The 200 freestyle relay team consisting of William LaCount, Gabriel Fulconi, Daniel Khmara, and Leo Nolles wrapped up the day's events by securing a silver medal. The team finished just 0.03 seconds behind Grand Valley State and received first team All-America recognition.

In the preliminaries, Dickman competed in the second heat of the 100 breaststroke, finishing fifth with a time of 53.37. His performance placed him 11th overall, advancing him to the evening's consolation finals.

During the finals, Dickman started strong in lane three for the 100 breaststroke consolation finals but ultimately finished fourth with a time of 53.96, achieving a second team All-America status.

The NMU relay team entered with the top national time of 1:17.76. In their final heat, they were fifth after LaCount's split (19.78), maintained fifth after Fulconi's split (19.80), and dropped to sixth before Khmara's leg (19.79). Nolles' anchor leg (18.76) propelled them to finish second with a total time of 1:18.13.
