The Northern Michigan University (NMU) men's Nordic ski team is in Hanover, New Hampshire, to compete in the 2025 NCAA Skiing Championships. The event is hosted at Oak Hill and The Skiway and will commence with an opening ceremony on Tuesday, March 4. The ceremony will take place on The Green at 4:45 p.m., featuring introductions of all participating teams and student-athletes, led by the Dartmouth Marching Band.
The competition officially begins on Wednesday, March 5. NMU's schedule includes the men's 7.5k classic individual start on Thursday, March 6 at noon and the men's 20k freestyle mass start on Saturday, March 8 at 10 a.m.
Spectators can follow the event through live scoring and streaming options available via the Championship Site.
The full racing schedule includes:
- Wednesday, March 5: Men's and Women's Slalom at The Skiway
- Women's first run at 8:30 a.m., second run at 12:30 p.m.
- Men's first run at 10:15 a.m., second run at 1:30 p.m.
- Thursday, March 6: Men's and Women's 7.5K Classic Individual Start at Oak Hill
- Women's race at 10 a.m.
- Men's race at noon
- Friday, March 7: Men's and Women's Giant Slalom at The Skiway
- Women's first run at 9:00 a.m., second run at 12:15 p.m.
- Men's first run at 10:15 a.m., second run at 1 p.m.
- Saturday, March 8: Men's and Women's 20K Freestyle Mass Start at Oak Hill
- Men's race starts at 10 a.m.
- Women's race starts at noon
At the recent NCAA Central Regional Championships held in Marquette, Michigan, NMU's Luke Fricker won gold in the men's division for both events held over that weekend. Kristoffer Karsrud also performed well with silver finishes.
During last year's NCAA Championships, Karsrud led NMU's efforts with notable performances including a finish time of "1:00:31.9" in the "20k mass start," securing him a position of "28th."
