The Northern Michigan University women's lacrosse team continued their winning streak with an 18-8 victory over the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Eagles. The Wildcats' success was highlighted by standout performances from several players, including Hannah Jabas, who scored six goals in what was her highest-scoring game to date.

Josie Lakosky and Maddi Bast each contributed three goals, while Lakosky also led the team in assists and shots. Other players contributing to the scoreboard included Laine Stanton, Natalie Thomas, Kamryn Mayer, and Taylor Roberts.

The Wildcats outshot the Eagles 42-17 and had a groundball advantage of 16-12. They forced UWL into making 16 turnovers, eight of which were directly caused by NMU's efforts.

The game began with freshman Katelyn Wozney securing possession for NMU. Despite a missed opportunity early on, Maddi Bast soon scored the first goal for Northern Michigan. After some back-and-forth play, Hannah Jabas regained the lead for NMU before Josie Lakosky ended the first quarter with another goal.

In the second quarter, UWL briefly narrowed the gap with a goal before NMU extended their lead through scores from Mayer and Jabas. By halftime, NMU had built a significant nine-goal advantage.

During the third quarter, both teams exchanged goals but Northern maintained control thanks to contributions from Lakosky and Jabas. Although UWL made some progress late in this period, they couldn't close the gap significantly.

In the final quarter, Lakosky completed her hat trick while Jabas added her sixth goal of the match. A late effort from Taylor Roberts sealed an emphatic win for NMU at 18-8.

Looking ahead, Northern Michigan will travel south next week to compete against Quincy University and Missouri Western in Quincy, Illinois.
