Sophomore forward Josie Lakosky and senior defender Norah Bates have been recognized as the GLIAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. This acknowledgment follows their contributions to Northern Michigan University's successful 2-0 weekend start to the 2025 season.

Lakosky was instrumental in leading the Wildcats' offense, accumulating seven goals and an assist over two games. In the season opener against Walsh, she tied her career high by scoring six goals, contributing to a 19-6 victory. Her performance included a .500 shooting percentage, nine draw controls, two ground balls, and a caused turnover. Against UW-Stout, Lakosky added another goal and an assist with four draw controls and a .467 shooting percentage.

On defense, Bates played a crucial role in limiting opponents to just seven goals across both games. Her efforts earned her the GLIAC Defender of the Week title. During the game against Walsh, Bates led all players with three ground balls and three caused turnovers along with two draw controls. This marked her first career achievement of recording three caused turnovers alongside three ground balls in a single game.
