NMU athletics prepares for busy week of competitions

Northern Michigan University (NMU) has a busy week ahead with various athletic events scheduled from February 19 to February 24, 2025. The NMU Swim and Dive team will participate in the GLIAC Championships, starting on Wednesday, February 19. The preliminaries begin at 10:30 AM, followed by finals at 5:30 PM each day through Saturday.

In addition to swimming events, both the women's and men's basketball teams will face off against Michigan Tech on Thursday evening. The women's game is set for 5:30 PM and the men's game follows at 7:30 PM.

The NMU hockey team will play against St. Thomas twice this week, with games scheduled for Friday at 7:07 PM and Saturday at 6:07 PM.

Saturday also features a variety of other sports activities. The Track and Field team will compete in the Parkside Classic. Nordic Skiing athletes will take part in the NCAA Central Regional Ski Championships at Al Quaal in Ishpeming, with events for men and women beginning in the morning. Women's wrestling is set to compete in the NCWCC Northwest Regional Qualifier, while NMU's lacrosse team will face UW-La Crosse at noon.

On Sunday, February 23, NMU's Swim and Dive team has a Last Chance Meet scheduled with time yet to be determined. Nordic Skiing continues with more races at Al Quaal.

The week's schedule concludes on Monday with both basketball teams playing against Roosevelt; the women's game starts at 6:30 PM followed by the men's game at 8:30 PM.
