NMU swim team celebrates senior day with successful performances

The Northern Michigan University women's swim and dive team concluded their home schedule with a senior day meet against Lake Superior State University at the PEIF pool. Several seniors from the Wildcats team achieved notable success during the event.

Zoe DeKievit had a standout performance, securing first place in the 100 fly, third in the 100 back, and contributing to the victorious 200 medley relay team. She also won the 50 breast and placed third in the 50 free skins races.

Becca Burrows excelled by winning the women's skins event, taking gold in both the 50 free and back events, and earning silver in the fly. She also anchored a record-breaking first-place finish for the 200 free relay team.

Alyssa Bloser claimed victory in the 100 IM, finished second in the 100 fly, and took third place in the 50 fly skins race. Mia Strazny contributed to both winning relay teams and earned silver in the 100 breast.

Ella Houwers was part of the first-place 200 medley relay team and secured second place in the 200 breast. Camilla Carbone took gold in the 100 back, while Donna Hannig finished second in the 200 Fly.

The Wildcats are now preparing for February 19th when they will compete at the GLIAC Championships held in Holland, Michigan.
