The Northern Michigan University (NMU) men's swim and dive team concluded their regular season with a successful final home meet. The event also served as a celebration for the team's eight seniors before they head to the GLIAC Championships.
Senior swimmer Wyatt Dickman had an impressive performance, securing first place in the 100 IM and backstroke events. He was also part of the winning 200 medley relay team and achieved victories in the skins event with firsts in breaststroke and backstroke, along with a second-place finish in freestyle. Notably, Dickman set both pool and team records in the 100 IM.
Other seniors were recognized for their performances as well. Javier Pena Reyes finished first in the 100 breaststroke and second in the 200 freestyle. James Werwie took second place in the 100 breaststroke and was lead-off for the victorious 200 medley relay team. Patrick Andrews recorded a time of 1:51.70 in the 200 freestyle, while Logan Robillard secured third place in the 100 breaststroke.
Leo Nolles broke a pool record during his lead-off swim for the 200 freestyle relay, which included teammates Gabriel Fulconi, Daniel Khmara, and William LaCount. This same relay team went on to break another pool record.
The NMU Wildcats are now preparing for February 19th when they will compete at the GLIAC Championships held in Holland, Michigan.
