The Northern Michigan University (NMU) lacrosse team has been ranked second in the 2025 GLIAC Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Preseason Poll. The Wildcats received 13 points and one first-place vote, placing them behind Grand Valley State, which garnered 16 points and four first-place votes.
Head coach Lindsey Majkrzak is entering her sixth season with NMU. In 2024, she led the team to consecutive GLIAC Championship appearances, achieving a program-best single-season record of 14-5. Her career record stands at 42-21.
Assistant coach Quinn Crandall is returning for her second season with the Wildcats. She focuses on the attacking side of the game and helped produce a record number of goals, assists, and points last year. Minnie Bittell joins as a student-assistant after an impressive playing career with NMU.
The team welcomes back six of its eight all-conference selections from last season while adding 11 new players. Notable returnees include Josie Lakosky, Dayna Carlson, Maddi Bast, Natalie Thomas, Lauren Esposito, and Olivia Rose.
NMU's schedule includes 17 regular-season games from February to April before postseason play begins in May. The Wildcats will start their season at home against Walsh on February 14.
