Dybwad leads NMU women's nordic ski team to victory at St.Scholastica Invite

The NMU women's nordic ski team recently competed in the 20k mass start at the CCSA St. Scholastica Invite, with Victoria Dybwad leading the team to victory by claiming the gold medal.

Participants were required to complete eight laps of 2.5 kilometers each. Dybwad was the only competitor to finish under one hour, maintaining her lead throughout the race. Her lap times were recorded as 6:45.8, 7:24.3, 7:20.0, 7:27.4, 7:31.8, 7:36.8, 7:32.6, and 7:38.3, culminating in a final time of 59:17.4.

Greta Leitheiser from The College of St. Scholastica secured second place with a time of 1:00:57.5, while Greta Hansen from Michigan Tech finished third at 1:00:58.1.

Henriette Nilssen and Jordan Parent also placed within the top ten for NMU, finishing eighth and ninth with times of 1:03:20.7 and 1:03:49.5 respectively. Pearl Harvey completed her race in sixteenth place with a time of 1:06:43.3 and Ella Niznik concluded her run at twenty-second position with a time of 1:08:43.8.

Looking ahead, NMU is preparing for their next competition during the weekend of February 15 and February 16 when they will travel to Houghton, Michigan for the CCSA Conference Championships at Tech Trails.
