The Northern Michigan University (NMU) alpine ski team achieved a significant victory over the weekend in Duluth, Minnesota. Both the men's and women's teams excelled in the slalom competition, sweeping the podium.

In the women's event, NMU dominated by taking the top six positions and eight out of the top ten. The team finished first with a combined time of 3:34.99, followed by St. Olaf College (STO) at 3:53.42 and University of Wisconsin-Madison (UWMAD) at 4:05.84.

Ainsley Kirk led her team with a winning time of 1:11.10, having recorded the fastest time in one run and second-fastest in another. Reagan Olli was just .11 seconds behind Kirk, securing second place with a total time of 1:11.21 after recording impressive times across both runs.

Ella Wichert completed the podium for NMU with her bronze medal finish, while teammates Tommie Springer, Maddy Stern, Marisa Witte, Emily Creek, and Jacey Johnson also placed within the top ten.

The men's team mirrored this success by capturing all three podium spots and taking home four of the top places overall. They finished first as a team with a combined time of 3:19.05; UWMAD followed at 3:34.34 and STO at 3:35.75.

Aaron Grzelak secured first place for NMU with a total time of 1:05.81 through consistently fast runs in both attempts. Reed Heathman made an impressive comeback to claim silver after moving up five positions due to his outstanding second run performance.

Andrew Truman rounded off NMU's podium finishes on the men's side while Anthony Petkov placed fourth overall despite some setbacks faced by other leading skiers such as Kayan Hopke and Connor Abrahams who did not finish their second runs.
