The NMU women's nordic ski team achieved a strong performance on the first day of the CCSA St. Scholastica Invite in Duluth, Minnesota. The team secured both gold and silver medals in the 7.5k classic race.
Henriette Nilssen led the field with a winning time of 21:03.5, finishing 30 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor. Her lap times were 6:37.1, 13:42.4 (7:05.1), and 21:03.5 (7:21.3), each being the fastest for their respective laps.
Victoria Dybwad claimed second place with a time of 21:34.5, achieving the second-fastest lap times at each interval with splits of 6:38.8, 14:04.8 (7:26.0), and finishing at 21:34.5 (7:29.7). She finished 15 seconds ahead of Alice McKnight from Michigan Tech.
Jordan Parent and Pearl Harvey also placed in the top ten, securing eighth and ninth positions respectively with times of 22:22.7 and 22:24.1.
Ella Niznik finished in seventeenth place with a time of 23:45.2, while Lena Kjelstrup completed her race in thirty-third place with a time of 25:25.2.
