The Northern Michigan University (NMU) men's nordic ski team made a strong showing on the first day of the 2025 St. Scholastica CCSA Invite in Duluth, Minnesota. Three members of the Wildcats secured top-four finishes in the competition.
Kristoffer Karsrud led the field with an impressive performance. The event consisted of three 2.5-kilometer laps, totaling a 7.5-kilometer race. Karsrud's lap times were recorded at 5:32.0, 11:39.4, and 17:53.5, placing him first across all laps.
Teammate Luke Fricker followed closely behind, earning second place with a final time of 18:10.4. His lap times were noted as 5:34.4, 11:43.7, and matching his final time at 18:10.4, which placed him consistently second among competitors.
Adrik Kraftson began his race with lap times of 4:45.6 and 12:03.3, initially positioning him in seventh place before moving up to fourth with a finishing time of 18:19.2.
Jonathan Clarke completed the top-10 for NMU by securing seventh place with a time of 18:42.9. Other team members included Hendrik Peterson in 21st place and Mathias Haugen finishing in 26th.
The Wildcats will continue their participation tomorrow in the freestyle mass start event scheduled for a start time of 12:30 p.m ET.
