Northern Michigan University's men's basketball team is preparing for challenging matchups against two top-15 teams. The Wildcats, with a record of 12-4, will face the Ferris State Bulldogs and Lake Superior State Lakers in upcoming games. The Wildcats recently split their weekend games, losing to Wayne State but securing a victory over Saginaw Valley State.

The team will first play against Ferris State on January 23 at 7:30 p.m., followed by a game against Lake Superior State on January 25 at 3 p.m. Both games can be watched on the FloSports app or listened to on 100.3 The Point.

Northern Michigan's defense has been strong this season, allowing only 66.4 points per game and maintaining a league-low opponent rebound average. Dylan Kuehl leads the team with an average of 15.4 points per game and recently joined the program's exclusive 1,000 career-points club.

Ferris State holds a record of 17-2 and ranks No. 8 nationally. They are led by senior guard Ethan Erickson, who averages 16.8 points per game. The Bulldogs have shown strong performances in several key categories.

Lake Superior State, ranked No. 14 nationally with a record of 15-3, boasts one of the most balanced attacks in the nation with five players averaging double figures in scoring.

Earlier this season, Northern Michigan hosted Michigan State in a notable preseason exhibition attended by over 11,500 fans.
