Women's Nordic team excels at Ariens Invite securing top two spots

In the first race of the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) season, the Northern Michigan University (NMU) women's Nordic team secured the top two positions in the 15k event at Ariens Invite in Brillion, Wisconsin.

Victoria Dybwad claimed victory with a finish time of 37:16.0, posting lap times of 7:17.0, 7:32.9, 7:28.0, 7:26.1, and 7:31.7. Following closely was Henriette Nilssen who earned silver with lap times of 7:13.8, 7:28.1, 7:36.0, 7:37.2, and 7:32.3 for a total time of 37:27.6.

Marie Wangen from Michigan Tech took bronze but trailed Nilssen by nearly thirty seconds.

Other notable performances included Jordan Parent finishing sixth with a time of 38:39.4 and Merle Richter in tenth place at 39:44.6. Ella Niznik completed the race in fourteenth place with a time of 40:29.9.

The NMU team will participate in tomorrow's Mixed Freestyle Relay alongside their men's counterparts.
