The Northern Michigan University (NMU) Wildcats faced a challenging match against the Bowling Green Falcons, ending with a 2-0 defeat. Despite controlling two out of three periods and outshooting the Falcons in both the first and third periods, the Wildcats were unable to secure a win.

In the second period, Ben Doran from the Falcons managed to score after a pass redirected off a Wildcat defenseman's skate, leaving NMU's goalie Ryan Ouellette with little chance to save. The game concluded with an empty-net goal by Quinn Emerson for Bowling Green.

Ouellette performed commendably in goal, achieving 31 saves and maintaining a .969 save percentage. This marked his seventh game of the season with over 30 saves. On the opposing side, Christian Stoever returned from injury for only his second appearance this season, securing a shutout with 24 saves.

"The 'Cats were unable to break through on its only power play opportunity," but they successfully defended against both of Bowling Green's power plays, allowing minimal shots on goal.

Looking ahead, NMU aims to split the weekend series as they prepare for another match at "The Slate" tomorrow evening.
