NMU athletics hosts packed weekend of events from Dec. 5-7

Northern Michigan University (NMU) is gearing up for a busy weekend of athletic events from December 5th to December 7th. The schedule kicks off on Thursday with the men's and women's swim and dive teams competing at the Calvin Winter Invite, starting at 10 AM and continuing at 6 PM. The same day, NMU's women's basketball team will face Purdue Northwest at 5:30 PM, followed by the men's basketball game against the same opponent at 7:30 PM.

On Friday, December 6th, NMU's track and field athletes will participate in the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invite throughout the day. Concurrently, the swim and dive teams will continue their participation in the Calvin Winter Invite. Women's wrestling is set to compete in a dual meet against UW-Oshkosh at 5 PM. Later that evening, NMU's hockey team will take on Ferris State at 7:07 PM, featuring a Teddy Bear Toss event.

The activities continue into Saturday with another full day of track and field action at UW-Oshkosh. Additionally, both men's and women's nordic ski teams are scheduled to participate in the Swedetown Season Opener in Calumet, MI, beginning at 10 AM. Swim and dive events persist with sessions scheduled for both morning and evening.

Women's basketball returns to action against Parkside at noon on Saturday, followed by men's basketball facing Parkside as well at 2 PM. The hockey team wraps up their series against Ferris State with a game starting at 6:07 PM. This match includes a Sock Toss event and offers fans an opportunity to skate with the Wildcats after the game.
