Wildcats' season ends with loss to Drury in NCAA Tournament

In Ashland, Ohio, the Wildcats concluded their 2024 season with a 4-1 defeat against Drury in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The match was played under challenging weather conditions, including strong winds and rain.

The Wildcats ended their season with a record of 14 wins, 4 losses, and 4 draws. This marks their third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament under head coach Jon Sandoval. The team achieved the third-highest number of wins in a single season.

Molly Pistorius scored the only goal for the Wildcats, assisted by Hannah Kastamo and Maria Storm. Goalkeeper Sally Patton made five saves during her debut in the NCAA tournament.

Drury took control early, scoring three goals in the first half, including two just before halftime. Despite an early second-half response from the Wildcats, they could not score again before Drury added a fourth goal near the end of the match.

Drury is set to face host Ashland in the second round on Sunday at 3 PM.
