State Representative John Roth participated in the Michigan House of Representatives' annual 9-11 Memorial Ceremony, held on the Capitol lawn. The event is dedicated to honoring first responders and public safety officers who have died in the line of duty across Michigan over the past year.
The ceremony featured a fire bell ringing as a tribute to these individuals. Legislators traditionally invite first responders and military members from their communities to attend as guests. This year, Rep. Roth was accompanied by Manistee County Sheriff Brian Gutowski, Benzie County Sheriff Kyle Rosa, and Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea.
“It was an honor to welcome our local sheriffs to attend today’s memorial ceremony,” Roth stated. “We can never say enough to thank our public safety officers and first responders who keep us safe every day. September 11 is a fitting time for this ceremony, while we reflect on and solemnly appreciate the many heroes who responded to the attacks 23 years ago today.”
