Olivia Webber, a senior on the 2024 Northern Michigan University (NMU) volleyball team, is preparing to graduate after completing her final collegiate season. Hailing from Marshall, Michigan, Webber is set to receive her degree in Accounting this year.

Webber has plans for an internship in Detroit over the summer and intends to pursue a career in accounting. "I'll be moving back downstate for now," she stated regarding her post-graduation plans.

Reflecting on her time with the Wildcats, Webber values the experiences shared with her teammates. Despite facing significant challenges due to injuries throughout her college career, she maintained a competitive spirit. "I have been struggling with hip issues since my first year of college," Webber said. She discovered that she had torn labrums in both hips and described pushing through as one of the toughest experiences due to its ongoing nature.

Throughout these challenges, Webber expressed pride in finding peace amid struggles and maintaining happiness regardless of whether she was playing or sidelined. In the current season, she has achieved 21 kills with a .235 hitting percentage and accumulated 166 career kills.

Webber advises incoming freshmen to remain open-minded and appreciate every moment during their college journey: "Try as hard as you can and try not to take all the little moments for granted."

The NMU Wildcats are scheduled to compete against Parkside in the GLIAC Quarterfinals match on Wednesday, November 20 at 6 p.m.
