The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has revealed the recipients of its 2024 women's soccer postseason awards, determined by the votes of the league's coaches. Notably, four individuals from one team received major accolades, while others were named to all-conference teams.

Brooke Pietila was honored as the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year. Hannah Kastamo received recognition as GLIAC Defensive Player of the Year. Sally Patton was acknowledged as GLIAC Freshman of the Year, and Jon Sandoval earned his second consecutive title as GLIAC Coach of the Year.

Brooke Pietila and Hannah Kastamo joined Justina L'Esperance, Molly Pistorius, and Maria Storm in receiving All-GLIAC First Team honors. Sally Patton secured a place on the All-GLIAC Second Team, while Angelina Perritano earned an All-GLIAC Honorable Mention.

Head coach Jon Sandoval commented on these achievements: "We're thrilled for our players receiving these awards and recognition, but they'd be the first to say that it all begins in daily training, where iron sharpens iron."

Pietila led several statistical categories in conference play including goals (8), assists (6), game-winning goals (3), points (22), and shots (49). She expressed her commitment to excellence through her performance. Her head coach praised her dedication: "Her relentless work ethic, unmatched drive, and grit on the field are what set her apart."

Hannah Kastamo contributed significantly to both defense and offense during conference games. Her efforts were instrumental in limiting opponents to six goals against during conference play. Coach Sandoval remarked on her impact: "Hannah's dedication and versatility have been game-changers for us this season."

Sally Patton excelled as a freshman goalkeeper with notable statistics such as a .488 goals-against average across over 1100 minutes played. Sandoval highlighted her poise under pressure: "Earning Freshman of the Year is a testament to her talent and fearlessness in high-pressure situations."

Coach Jon Sandoval attributed his team's success not only to individual performances but also to collective efforts: "This should be a Staff of the Year honor... I'm just an average coach with a phenomenal team."

In addition to these individual accolades, Justina L'Esperance showed impressive performance metrics throughout conference play. Her journey back from injury served as inspiration for teammates.

Molly Pistorius demonstrated leadership qualities essential for team success during challenging moments on-field while maintaining consistent form throughout matches.

Maria Storm's contributions included significant playing time coupled with crucial goal-scoring capabilities when needed most by Wildcats’ squadmates.

Angelina Perritano showcased adaptability across various roles within lineups resulting in commendable season-long performances recognized through honorable mention status by coaches voting panelists involved selection process evaluations conducted post-season concluding competitive fixtures completed earlier this year
