NMU women's swim team dominates dual meet against Wayne State and Findlay

The Northern Michigan University (NMU) women's swim team emerged victorious in a dual meet held in Detroit, defeating both Wayne State and Findlay. The Wildcats achieved a significant win over Wayne State with a score of 215 to 85 and secured a victory against Findlay with a score of 185 to 109.

Throughout the competition, NMU's swimmers secured first-place finishes in eight events and reached the podium 26 times. Elena Curti had an impressive performance, winning two individual events, the 200-yard and 100-yard freestyle. She also contributed to the team's success as part of the first-place 400-yard medley relay team and was the lead-off swimmer for the second-place 400-yard freestyle relay team.

Camilla Carbone excelled in both backstroke events, finishing first in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke. She also participated as the lead-off swimmer for the second-place 400-yard medley relay team. Abbie Harned dominated diving by winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.

Other notable performances included Annika Wright's gold medal in the 500-yard freestyle, silver in the 400 IM, and bronze in the 200-yard freestyle. Annika Geyer claimed gold in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Carlotta Santi consistently finished second across her four events while Zoe DeKievit secured second place in all three of her races.

Becca Burrows and Sophia Moore each reached the podium three times, Mia Strazny did so three out of four times, and Kalina Ceglinski placed top-three in both diving events.
