Northern Michigan University's volleyball team achieved a significant milestone as three of its players, Jacqueline Smith, Allie Barlow, and Liesl Haugen, were honored with the GLIAC Volleyball Players of the Week awards. This marks the first instance this season where one team has swept these weekly accolades.

Jacqueline Smith earned the title of GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week. Her performance was pivotal in leading the Wildcats to a 3-0 record for the week. She amassed 62 kills across three victories, starting with a career-high 28 kills against Michigan Tech. Smith also contributed defensively with 47 digs over the week and added nine aces and eight blocks.

Allie Barlow was named GLIAC Setter of the Week for her outstanding playmaking skills. The sophomore setter recorded 147 assists during Northern Michigan's winning streak, including a notable single-game high of 62 assists against Michigan Tech. Her efforts place her at the top among GLIAC setters this season with a total of 943 assists.

Defensively, Liesl Haugen stood out as she secured the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week award by achieving 63 digs over three matches. Her defensive prowess was highlighted by a career-best performance of 31 digs in one match against Michigan Tech.

Head Coach Mike Lozier expressed his pride in their achievements: "I am so proud of all three of these athletes. This was a really important week for us, and they all rose to the occasion."

The Wildcats now have four road matches remaining in their regular season schedule and hold a record of 16-7 overall and 10-3 in conference play. They aim to secure a home game for the upcoming GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals.
