The Northern Michigan University men's basketball team has announced the signing of four recruits for the 2024-25 freshmen class. The new additions include Michael McNabb, Isaiah Allen, Cody Schmitz, and Jonny Ingalls.

Head Coach Matt Majkrzak expressed his enthusiasm about the incoming players: "We couldn't be more excited about our 2024 recruiting class," he said. He highlighted their scoring abilities, noting that they have collectively scored 8,216 points during their high school careers. Despite their offensive prowess, Majkrzak emphasized that they are also unselfish players with strong defensive skills and a commitment to improving their game.

Majkrzak noted the significant time invested in this recruiting class: "There hasn't been a recruiting class we've spent more time on as coaches," he stated. He praised not only their development as players but also their leadership qualities within their high school and travel programs.

Isaiah Allen from Milwaukee Lutheran High School averaged 23.5 points per game (ppg) and was recognized with several honors including WBCA Division 2 Honorable Mention All-State. Majkrzak described him as having "legit point guard ability at 6'4" while being versatile enough to play against smaller defenders.

Jonny Ingalls from St. Ignace led his team to its first state semifinal since 1983 and averaged 30.4 ppg. Majkrzak commended his performance in critical moments and noted his athleticism and scoring range.

Michael McNabb from Grafton High School scored an average of 28.0 ppg throughout his career, becoming Grafton's all-time leading scorer. Majkrzak praised his left-handed style of play and relentless rebounding efforts.

Cody Schmitz from Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School is Wisconsin's fourth all-time leading scorer with an average of 30.1 ppg this season. Majkrzak highlighted Schmitz's athleticism and potential as an elite two-way player.
