Northern Michigan University's men's basketball players, Max Weisbrod and Dylan Kuehl, have received regional honors for their performances in the recent season. Sophomore guard Weisbrod was named to both the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Midwest Region First Team and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District First Team. Redshirt sophomore Kuehl earned a spot on the NABC All-District Second Team.

Weisbrod's accolades include being named GLIAC Player of the Year, making him only the fourth Wildcat to receive this recognition and the first since Cory Brathol in 2000. He ended the season with an average of 17.2 points per game and 4.4 assists per game. Notably, he maintained a shooting percentage of 39.1% from three-point range and 80.8% from free throws, achieving a top-25 assist-to-turnover ratio in Division II.

Kuehl, hailing from Iron Ridge, Wisconsin, also made significant contributions to his team’s success. He finished sixth in conference scoring with an average of 16.2 points per game and ranked among the top ten for made shots, total rebounds, and blocks. His shooting accuracy stood at 50.5%.

The duo played pivotal roles in leading Northern Michigan University to a record of 22-11 overall and a conference mark of 14-4. Their efforts secured NMU its first regular season title since the 1992-93 season and marked their second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
