The Northern Michigan University (NMU) men's basketball team is set to host the remainder of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament this weekend following their victory over Purdue Northwest in the quarterfinals. The Wildcats, who are ranked No. 1, secured a 71-63 win against Purdue Northwest and will face No. 4 Grand Valley State University (GVSU) on Saturday, March 9 at the Berry Events Center.

The upcoming semifinals will also feature No. 3 Ferris State playing against No. 7 Wayne State. Tickets for these matches are available online.

In their recent game, NMU's Dylan Kuehl led with an impressive performance, scoring 27 points on 13 of 17 shooting. "It was looking good for the Green and Gold out of the gate as they jumped out to an early 18-5 lead," but Purdue Northwest managed to tie the game before NMU pulled ahead in the second half.

NMU holds a strong home record at Berry Events Center since February of last year, having won 25 out of their last 27 games there. However, both losses were handed by Grand Valley State, making this upcoming match significant for both teams.

Grand Valley State enters this semifinal after defeating Michigan Tech in a close match, with Mason Docks leading GVSU by scoring 21 points. They have won five consecutive games and pose a formidable challenge for NMU.

The GLIAC Tournament semifinals are scheduled as follows: Northern Michigan vs. Grand Valley State at 1 p.m., followed by Ferris State vs. Wayne State at 3:30 p.m., all hosted by Northern Michigan University.
