The Northern Michigan University Volleyball team is set to conclude a series of away games with upcoming matches against Grand Valley State University (GVSU) and Davenport University (DU). The Wildcats will face GVSU on Friday, October 27 at 5 p.m. and DU on Saturday, October 28 at 4 p.m.

Assistant coach Kamryn Duffield shared insights about the team's preparation: "I think it's good to look back and see where we executed and where we didn't (against GVSU and DU) the first time around, and use that information in these matches."
Currently ranked seventh in the GLIAC with a record of 5-6, Northern Michigan holds an overall season record of 8-14. Key players include junior outside hitter Jacqueline Smith, who ranks fourth in the conference for kills per set (3.56), freshman libero Liesl Haugen, second in digs per set (5.05), junior middle blocker Meghan Meyer with a .333 attack percentage, and sophomore middle blocker McKenzie Gruner noted for her solo blocks.
Last weekend's matches saw mixed results for NMU. They were defeated by Wayne State but rebounded against Saginaw Valley State with a straight-set victory, recording a season-high of 15 aces.
Grand Valley State presents a formidable challenge with a current GLIAC record of 9-2 and an overall record of 17-3. NMU has historically struggled against GVSU, holding a 9-15 all-time record.
Davenport enters the weekend with a GLIAC record of 6-5. The Wildcats have fared better historically against Davenport, boasting a three-game winning streak in their matchups.
