Northern Michigan University's volleyball team is gearing up for their final road games of the season after securing a three-game winning streak at home. The Wildcats will face Lake Superior State on Friday, November 10, at 6 p.m., followed by a match against Ferris State on Saturday, November 11, at 5 p.m. These matches come just before the GLIAC Tournament.

Fans can follow the team's progress through updates on social media platforms @NMU_Volleyball and @NMU_Wildcats.

Reflecting on the team's recent performance, player Evynn Layshock stated, "Our demeanor on the court is a lot different than what it was at the beginning of the season. We're ready to compete and we just want to have fun and compete every day."

Currently positioned fifth in the GLIAC with an 8-8 record and an overall season standing of 11-16, NMU has seen standout performances from several players. Senior setter Lauren Van Remortel was named GLIAC Setter of the Week for her impressive assists last week. Junior outside hitter Jacqueline Smith leads in kills per set within the conference play.

In their last match against Wayne State University during Senior Day celebrations, NMU emerged victorious in four sets. Key contributions came from Jacqueline Smith with 17 kills and Lauren Van Remortel who assisted on 52 kills.

The upcoming match against Lake Superior State sees NMU entering with confidence as they hold a strong historical record against them. Meanwhile, facing Ferris State poses a challenge as NMU aims to break their current losing streak against this formidable opponent.

Lake Superior State stands at 4-12 in GLIAC play and faces tough competition from NMU's offensive lineup led by Jacqueline Smith and Rayne Thompson. Ferris State leads the GLIAC with a notable performance this season underlining their rank as No. 21 nationally.
