The Northern Michigan University women's soccer team has revealed its 2024 schedule, which includes seven home matches and the addition of a new member to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC). The Wildcats are preparing for a challenging season with four regional opponents and several away games against teams that reached the national tournament last year.

"Without a doubt, this is a challenging schedule," stated Jon Sandoval, who was named GLIAC Coach of the Year. Sandoval, entering his fifth year leading the Wildcats after their successful 2024 campaign, emphasized the team's focus on defending their title. "Most people know how difficult our conference is, but before we even get into conference matches, we play three teams that made the national tournament last year on the road."

Sandoval also expressed confidence in his team's ability to handle challenges: "This is a group that is capable of handling hard well, but each year provides unique challenges. After a humbling Spring season, my hope is we come back in the Fall hungrier than ever."

The Wildcats will begin with two scrimmages: one at home against Lewis on August 24 and another on the road against St. Norbert. Their regular season starts with four consecutive road games against regional opponents Duluth and St. Cloud in Minnesota on September 5 and 7, followed by Cedarville and Northwood on September 12 and 14.

GLIAC play commences with home matches against Grand Valley State on September 20 and Davenport University on September 22. The Wildcats will face new GLIAC member Roosevelt University Lakers on September 27 before concluding their opening GLIAC road trip at Purdue Northwest on September 29.

October begins with home games against Ferris State and Saginaw Valley State. The Wildcats then embark on a three-game road trip starting at Michigan Tech before facing Ferris State and Davenport University again later in October.

Returning home, they will host Roosevelt, Purdue Northwest, and Parkside from late October to early November. Senior day will be observed during the match against Purdue Northwest on October 27.

The regular season concludes with away games against Grand Valley State and Saginaw Valley State in early November.
