The Northern Michigan women's lacrosse team is preparing for the final stretch of their regular season with a series of three away games. The Wildcats, currently holding an 11-3 overall record and 2-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), are receiving votes in both the International Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and USA Lacrosse polls for the first time.

The team will face Davenport University on Friday night, followed by a match against Grand Valley State University on Sunday evening. The Wildcats previously defeated Davenport this season and aim to continue their winning streak. Meanwhile, they look to avenge a prior loss against Grand Valley State.

Minnie Bittell has been recognized as the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week after achieving nine points in a recent game. She leads the conference in goals, assists, and points this semester. Freshman Josie Lakosky and senior Kaitlyn Bridger are also among top performers for NMU.

Davenport holds a 5-5 overall record and has yet to secure a conference win. Maddy Haynes leads their scoring efforts while their goalkeeper ranks second in the GLIAC for saves. Grand Valley State boasts an impressive 11-1 record, leading them to climb national rankings recently. Key players include Delaney Smith and Maddy Champagne.

NMU aims to finish strong as they conclude their regular season schedule on the road.
