Minnie Bittell has been named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season. The recognition follows her standout performance during the NMU Lacrosse senior game, where she matched her career-best with nine points, including five goals and four assists from eight shots on target.

Bittell's achievements this season include recording five or more points in 11 out of 14 games. She currently leads the GLIAC in several categories: goals (59), assists (25), points (84), and shots (121). These are all single-season career highs for Bittell, who is just eight points away from reaching 300 career points.

In addition to her scoring ability, Bittell achieved a personal best by collecting six ground balls, causing two turnovers, and securing five draw controls during the game.

Head coach Lindsey Majkrzak commented on Bittell's impact: "For Minnie to have a career night on her senior night and earn the weekly GLIAC honor is obviously special," said Majkrzak. "But what the stats don't say is how important she has been to our daily success this year. She has helped define our culture with her work ethic and leadership, and every new achievement we've reached this year has had her fingerprints on it. She makes us all better."

The NMU Wildcats will continue their 2024 season with important road matches against Davenport and Grand Valley State this weekend.
