Hunter began her day on the back nine, where she recorded birdies on the 510-yard par five 13th and the 490-yard par five 18th. She posted a score of +4 (40) on the back nine. The 13th hole was challenging, with an average stroke of 5.49, and Hunter's birdie was one of only nine for the day.
On the front nine, Hunter started by paring both the 379-yard par four first and the 290-yard par four second holes. However, she faced difficulties with double-bogies on the third, fourth, and fifth holes. Despite these setbacks, she made three pars in her final four holes to finish with a +7 (43) on this stretch.
The course played as a par-72 over 6061 yards with an average score slightly above +9 (81). The most challenging holes were identified as the ninth (+1.00 SC), 14th (+0.85 SC), and 11th (+0.85 SC), where Hunter managed to record pars.
Coach Ben Johnson commented that there is "a lot of golf left," indicating two more rounds are still to be played. Currently leading is Brook Herbstreit from Saginaw Valley with a score of -2 (70), followed by Hannah Meloche from Davenport and Taryn Overstreet from Drury at even par.
