Northern Michigan cross country team prepares for GLIAC Championships

The Northern Michigan cross country team is preparing for the GLIAC Championships this weekend, which will take place in Houghton, Michigan. The event, hosted by Michigan Tech, is scheduled for Saturday, October 21, with the women's race starting at 10 a.m. on the Michigan Tech trails.

Spectators can follow the races through a live stream on FloSports and track live results via SuperiorTiming. After the women's and men's races conclude at 10:45 a.m., an awards ceremony will be held at 11:45 a.m. to honor top performers with All-GLIAC First Team and Second Team recognitions. Awards for MVP, Freshman of the Year, Coach of the Year, and team championships will also be presented.

Northern Michigan University encourages fans to stay updated on race day by following @NMU_Track_Field and @NMU_Wildcats on X (formerly Twitter).

Last weekend, Northern Michigan competed at UW-La Crosse, finishing sixth out of twenty teams. Talon Prusi led the Wildcats with an 18th-place finish in 23:35.3. Beverly Harper followed in 38th place with a time of 24:10.7, while Petra Foote came in shortly after in 41st place at 24:13.9; both set personal records. Other notable performances included personal bests from Elliott Smith (24:44.2), Lana Mac (24:44.3), Isabella Beck (25:00.2), Attica Brandt (25:16.1), and Endla Harris (25:27.4).
