NMU men's golf ranks 13th after first round at SVSU Spring Invitational

The NMU men's golf team is positioned in 13th place after the first round of the SVSU Spring Invitational, held in Lexington, Kentucky. The Wildcats collectively scored a +7 with a total of 295 strokes. Their performance included shooting +16 on par 3 holes (averaging 3.80), +7 on par 4 holes (averaging 4.14), and an impressive -11 on par 5 holes (averaging 4.45), which was the third-best among participating teams.

Eric Yun led the team with an even score of 72, tying for 24th place individually. He recorded scores of 37 on the front nine and 35 on the back nine. Notably, Yun finished strong by birdieing a par-4 hole measuring 427 yards and eagling a par-5 hole at 529 yards, ending his last six holes at three under par. His total of 14 pars was among the top three in the field.

Russel Sprecher followed closely with a score of +1, just one stroke behind Yun, achieving two birdies on each half of his round for a total of four birdies.

Tyler Annala concluded his day at +2, while Walter Ylitalo and Arthur Ylitalo ended their rounds at +4 and +5 respectively. Competing as an individual, Brady Badker also shot a +4.
