The Northern Michigan University (NMU) men's golf team is heading to Lexington, Kentucky, for the SVSU Spring Intercollegiate, marking their second event of the spring season. The competition will take place at Kearney Hill Golf Links, a Scottish links-style course known for its deep sand and grass bunkers, sparse trees, and open rolling terrain. This course has been recognized by Golf Digest Magazine as one of the top 10 courses in Kentucky.
The NMU team will include Russel Sprecher, Eric Yun, Walter Ylitalo, Tyler Annala, Arthur Ylitalo, and Brady Badker. They are set to compete from March 16 to March 17.
In their previous outing at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate in Sunset Beach last weekend, the team finished sixth out of nine teams. Eric Yun led the team with a T10 finish and excelled in par 3 scoring (+1), par 5 scoring (-3), and birdies (7).
Reflecting on their last performance at Kearney Hill during the previous season, NMU finished 17th out of 21 teams. Russel Sprecher achieved a T20 finish while Eric Yun and Walter Ylitalo placed T46 and T98 respectively.
