The Northern Michigan University (NMU) Wildcats are preparing to host the Wayne State University Warriors this Saturday, October 28. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Eastern Time at the Superior Dome in Marquette, Michigan.

Fans can stay updated on the game by following NMU's official football and athletics accounts on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Shane Richardson, presumably a coach or representative of NMU, commented on the upcoming match against Wayne State: "Wayne State is unique and we have to keep ourselves as confident as can be. They are going to give us different looks to keep us off balance, so we need to be aggressive and fast and make sure our guys understand the game plan."

Last weekend, NMU faced a challenging opponent in Grand Valley State University (GVSU), where they were defeated with a score of 73-14. During that game, GVSU accumulated 609 yards compared to NMU's 279 yards. Charlie Gerhard managed a notable 54-yard touchdown for NMU while Brock Franklin also scored. Mitch Larkin continued his strong performance with 13 tackles.

Currently, NMU holds an overall record of 0-8 this season. Despite their struggles, several players have shown commendable individual performances. Mitch Larkin leads the conference in total tackles with a combined count of 81. Tyqaun Cox ranks fifth in all-purpose yards within the GLIAC and seventh in rushing yards per game.

As for their opponents this weekend, Wayne State enters with an overall record of 2-6 and has lost their last two games. Their most recent match ended in an overtime loss against Saginaw Valley with a score of 17-10. In that game, quarterback Justin Cox threw for 107 yards and added another 72 rushing yards along with a touchdown.

The Wildcats aim to secure their first win of the season against Wayne State this Saturday at home.
